WAXING FAQ
-
+Isotretinoin/Accutane: You must be off of this medication for 12 months prior to your waxing, or 6 months with a doctor’s note.
+Tretinoin, Retin-A, Renova, Adapalene: Stop the use of these topical medications 7-10 days prior to your waxing, and avoid use for the following 7-10 days.
*Note: Since these medications are topical, you may continue use as long as waxed area is not one in which you apply medication.
-
Waxing is the superior hair removal method.
The basics: Long lasting smooth skin, no chance of cuts or irritation due to razors, no itchy stubble and finer, slower hair re-growth
The science: Waxing regularly essentially damages your hair follicles, making them grow back smaller and smaller, resulting in weaker, more fine hair growth. Waxing fine, weak hair means less discomfort every time you wax.
-
+ Ditch your razor. Hair must 10 days grown out at the bare minimum. 2-3 weeks is best.
+ Stay well hydrated, and avoid caffeine and alcohol prior to your appointment if possible.
+ Lightly exfoliate 3x per week, ending the day before your wax. Not sure how to exfoliate? Check out our recommended products sold at the salon for best results.
+ Book accordingly. You are more sensitive during and 2-3 days before your menstrual cycle. Also, take into consideration upcoming trips or vacations you would like to be waxed for so we can time your waxes appropriately. I highly recommend waxing 3 times or more before any big event
-
Most people experience 1-2 weeks at minimum completely hair free. Re-growth will become slower and slower with a consistent waxing regimen.
After the initial 4-6 wax appointments with no shaving in between, you can expect results to last anywhere between 2-4 weeks. Every body is different, so results may vary.
-
All bodies are different – Depending on your skin and hair type, I will recommend the best frequency for your waxing at your appointment. However, the average frequency is anywhere between every 3 and 6 weeks.
-
Though waxing can cause some mild discomfort, the thought of it is much worse than the experience. I work quickly and efficiently, keep the conversation going, and check in with you several times throughout your wax – I pride myself on keeping the comfort of my clients a top priority.
If you feel the need, you can take an ibuprofen 30-45 minutes prior to your appointment.
-
Parental consent and signature will be required for waxing for anyone under the age of 16.
-
Yes! I suggest starting your waxing journey before or during the early stages of pregnancy and continue consistently throughout to ensure great experiences and results. It is common to experience more sensitivity while pregnant. Please consult your doctor prior to booking if you are experiencing any abnormal pregnancy symptoms.
-
+Avoid anything that will cause heat, sweating and/or friction (ie intimacy, hot tubs, swimming, tanning or working out) for 12-24 hours
+Apply post wax oil daily after showering to keep skin and hair soft and free of ingrown hairs or other irritation
+Exfoliate every other/every third day with a product approved by your waxer. We retail all products that we recommend.
LASH EXTENSIONS FAQ
-
History of reaction to lash extension adhesive
Allergy to medical adhesives, most importantly the ingredients cyanoacrylate and/or carbon black
Damaged, weak natural eyelashes
Current and/or frequent eye infections or irritations
-
Lash extensions are exactly that - an extension of your natural eyelash. To apply them I individually adhere a synthetic eyelash of appropriate length, curl and weight to each individual natural eyelash. They are not strip lashes, clusters or flares. Lash extensions are made to lengthen, thicken and enhance the natural lash line without causing any pain or discomfort.
-
At maintenance, eyelash extensions should be re-filled every 2-3 weeks.
One-off applications will fully shed with the natural shedding of your own eyelashes –100% loss should be expected at weeks 4-5.
-
Best practice for maintaining lash extensions is to avoid eye makeup unless for special occasion. Mascara on lash extensions should always be avoided.
-
Do not rub, pick or pull at your lashes
Keep eye area and lash extensions squeaky clean
Avoid oils and eye make-up, especially mascara
Book regular lash fills to maintain lash density
LASH LIFT FAQ
-
A lash lift is the process of chemically curling your natural eyelashes so they appear lifted and curled throughout your natural growth cycle, which is about 4-6 weeks.
-
Please arrive to your appointment with eyes completely clean of make-up and oils. If you wear contacts, be prepared to remove them prior to service, or wear glasses instead.
-
Lash lifts can last anywhere from 4-8 weeks, depending on your natural lash cycle. There is no need for any maintenance appointments in between, but for consistently longer and curled lashes, you should repeat the process every 6-8 weeks.
-
Current or frequent eye infections or irritations, - ie stye, watery eyes, blepharitis
Recent laser eye surgery - please wait for surgeon clearance
Hormone medications - due to unpredictable hair growth patterns
